For as long as anyone can remember, this farm has been managed with the environment in mind, not as an afterthought, but as part of how it's run. Hedgerows have been maintained, not stripped out. Field margins have been left for wildlife. The result is a farm that produces food and supports nature at the same time, not one or the other.

That balance, productive farming and genuine biodiversity, side by side, isn't an accident. It's the product of decades of decisions made the right way, and it's exactly the kind of farmland that's becoming harder to find.
 

What the Evidence Shows

You don't have to take our word for it. A 2019 ecological survey of this farm, carried out with the National Farmers' Union, recorded 168 plant species and 96 animal species in a single day, including nationally scarce beetles and a rare wild orchid. That kind of result doesn't happen on land that's been farmed carelessly. It happens on land that's been cared for.

This is also some of the best agricultural land in the country, the kind of land national planning policy recognises should enjoy a high level of protection from development, because once it's lost to industrial infrastructure, it doesn't come back.
 

Why It Matters

Food security is a long-term, national concern, not an abstract one. Every acre of high-quality farmland lost to development is an acre we can't simply replace. At a time when the resilience of our food supply matters more than ever, we believe taking productive land like this out of farming permanently is a decision that shouldn't be made lightly, and shouldn't be made here.
